Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:CARNA registration and CPR - HCP level (Heart and Stroke Foundation) required and maintained throughout duration of employment. Minimum of 3 years previous experience (within last 5 years) in an acute care setting within the following areas required; hospital surgical suite, PACU, Emergency Department, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and/or high-intensity surgical ward experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care familiarity an asset Candidates with current perioperative nursing certification preferred. Previous experience in a cardiology unit an asset. Previous experience in a post anesthetic care unit an asset. Previous experience with pre and post cardiac device implant care an asset. Demonstrated reliability essential. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
