Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:1-2 years experience working in a clinical research environment interacting with patients. Current/previous experience working in acute care or ICU setting. Experience with obtaining Informed Consents from participants. Highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic with proven problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates ability to take initiative and work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be flexible, multitask and work well under pressure. Effectively coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines while remaining flexible to accept new workload as necessary. Work efficiently and in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, ICH-GCP guidelines, SOPs and Policies. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Effective communication skills. Precise documentation skills. Knowledge of MS Word & Excel, Gmail, Data Entry programs. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Preferred Qualifications:Clinical Research Certification - Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA). Experience working with Pharmaceutical Sponsors and Contract Research Organizations. Experience/training in Phlebotomy. Knowledge of AHS patient care information systems like Netcare & Connect Care. ICH-GCP and Health Canada Division 5 training certificate is an asset.
