Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:The candidate must have the physical capability to perform all aspects of the role, including the ability to lift to and including 50 lbs. Basic computer skills required. Strong leadership and critical thinking skills, demonstrated by the ability to direct other healthcare workers, problem solve and escalate clinical concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills and one must be committed to patient and family-centered care. Demonstrated ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, families and team members. Successful applicants will undergo Neuroscience Orientation Classes. Upon completion of classes, the candidate is required to achieve a minimum pass rate of 80% on the Neurosciences Exam to successfully enter the Program. Responsible for providing proof of active registration with the CARNA and maintaining registration throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:1 to 2 years of Neuroscience experience preferred. Connect care-related experience preferred.
