Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of five years of tertiary hospital-based nursing experience required. Experience in Bed Placement, Bed Coordination or Bed Management required. Experience at the University of Alberta Hospital – including familiarity with programs, units and appropriate patient placements within each subspecialty. Experience using computer applications: Connect Care, Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) & Netcare required. Experience in leadership roles, such as a Charge Nurse or Team Lead. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress. Must be able to work in a noisy environment with repeated interruptions. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting and be able to walk long distances and quickly navigate throughout the entire hospital. Must be able to work at computers for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Nursing. Emergency Department experience considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image and proven ability to remain calm, courteous, and respectful at all times. Skilled at paying close attention to detail.
