Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current adult acute care, surgery, ICU or related nursing experience within the last 2 years. Ability to move, transfer, and mobilize patients to meet the needs of the patient and the Unit.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates with two or more years of experience with caring for transplant patients within an acute care setting; however, an equivalent combination of education and surgical experience will also be considered. Experience with management of epidurals, nerve blocks, PCAs, surgical drains and tubes (including tracheostomies and chest tubes), central lines, dialysis modalities, complex wound care, and ostomies is preferred. Connect Care (EPIC) training is an asset.
