Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be a nursing graduate who has registered for CRNA as a Registered Nurse/Graduate Nurse within the last three (3) months. Since the Graduate Nurses participating in this pilot program will be matched up to assigned mentors (working either 8- or 12-hour shifts) within RAH’s Medicine units 5E, 6W, 41, 42, 43, 44, 51, 52, 53, and/or 54 to complete their residency, the successful candidate must have flexibility to work a rotation which aligns to their assigned mentor.
