Baccalaureate in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies Active or eligibility for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in clinical or rehabilitation setting is required. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Effective organizational and time management skills. Basic knowledge of computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams Zoom). Creating innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Demonstrated commitment to and participation in activities, which promote professional and personal growth and development. Actively integrates patient and family centered principles into own clinical practice. Effective communication with a patient centered focus. Demonstrating behaviors consistent with the values of AHS: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and safety. A high level of physical effort ( 60-70%) is related to clinical caseload. The therapist may be required to maintain a standing position with lifting, bending, and/or rotation related to client transfers or therapeutic recreation interventions. A high degree of concurrent mental effort (70-80%) is required for clinical decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with standardized assessment tools and Connect Care is an asset. Experience with aquatic therapy is an asset. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) designation is an asset
