Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required. Experience working in an acute care setting within the last 5 years required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with members of the interdisciplinary team, patients and families in a dynamic health care setting. Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload to keep pace in a busy multi-disciplinary patient care. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of AHS – Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with program development. Experience with geriatric/older adult population. Experience with group facilitation. Previous Connect Care training.
