Radiation Therapist I
Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Service (AHS) is currently looking for a driven Radiation Therapist (RT) who wants to grow their career as a pivotal member of our Cancer Care team! The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital’s (GPRH) Cancer Centre serves as the regional referral center for the majority of northern Alberta. This brand-new, state-of-the-art facility provides comprehensive care to cancer patients and brings exceptional radiation services to the North Zone. The addition of Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machines allows us to treat most cancers that require radiation treatment without travel. Previously, patients would have to travel to Edmonton for radiation treatment, which can now be accessed closer to their home and family. As an exciting and emerging hub for Alberta’s North Zone Cancer Care Patients Grand Prairie is full of growth potential with a unique blend of big city amenities and beautiful rural accessibility. Working in a regional center features the ability to collaborate closely with Oncologists, Medical Physicists and other oncology specialists offering unique professional growth and leadership opportunities to our RT’s that may take longer to access in larger tertiary centers. Other examples include access to dosimetry teamwork and financially supported educational access for development. Excitingly, this RT role is eligible for relocation, CAMRT exam and ACMDTT assessment reimbursement that can be discussed in advance with the hiring Manager. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and a low cost of living compared to many other regional and urban centres, this role is also eligible for Remote Retention Allowance to an annual maximum of $3,000. The allowances and incentives are non-pensionable and are corelative to the FTE and are calculated on the basic rate of pay.
