Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience conducting psychological assessments and developing treatment plans. Previous Experience with Chronic Disease Management. Familiarity with DSM diagnoses, and experience with multi-model approaches to therapy including but not limited to DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Non-violent crisis intervention (CPI). Previous experience working with addictions, mental health or in acute care settings.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with Chronic Disease Management. Experience working with transplant services. Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary setting. Suicide risk assessment and safety planning. Experience working with community programs. Experience working with individuals from across the lifespan (i.e., children through adults) with a variety of presenting issues, such as developmental disabilities, mental health issues, addiction, alcohol-related liver disease).
