Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful applicant should be able to work independently and provide leadership in a complex health environment. All Critical Care staff are required to take EDT (Effective De-Escalation Techniques). Experience with patients suffering from Post Traumatic Stress disorders and depression required. All staff in the Critical Care Program are required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare Provider Certificate. All employees new to Alberta Health Services are required to provide a Criminal Record Check. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:In addition, experience with Critical Stress Debriefing preferred. Successful candidate will be expected to work flex hours on occasion to meet the needs of the program.
