Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.

Additional Required Qualifications:

18+ years old. Legally entitled to work in Canada. Alberta class 5 operator’s license, or a provincial equivalent, with no more than four demerits and no charges or pending suspensions. A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) Be eligible for a community peace officer appointment. An extensive security background check is conducted, including a 10-year history review. Successful completion of Physical Ability Requirement Evaluation (PARE) or equivalent within the provincially recognized timeframe is required. You are responsible for test scheduling and payment. Ability to work a 24-hour shift rotation. Current Emergency Level First Aid and CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in uniformed public servant roles or emergency services (military, forestry, park ranger, corrections, peace officer). Minimum two years of related work experience OR a related degree or diploma in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or Psychology. Other related education may be considered. Community involvement or volunteering (unpaid positions). Knowledge of or training in harm reduction, anti-racism and Indigenous awareness.
