Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Project Management (Building Construction) or a Technology Diploma in Architecture, Building or Engineering and/or Journeyman Construction Trade Certificate. A member in good standing with the AAA, APEGGA, ASET or PMP designation associated in the Building Infrastructure Industry. 7-9 years of related commercial/institutional construction project management experience.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Planning and project management of heath care projects within a fully operating Acute Care facility. Knowledge of applicable provincial, regional and municipal bylaws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of construction contract law and procurement rules, regulations, and requirements. Ability to read and interpret construction documentation and contracts. Experience working with and/or managing external consultants, contractors, government agencies, and regulators. Familiarity with the Alberta Heath Services regions, Alberta Health, and/or Alberta Infrastructure. Proven ability to foster partnerships. Proven ability to manage, mentor, motivate and lead team members and stakeholders. Experience within a large, diverse matrix organization. Analytical reasoning and problem solving skills. Knowledge of construction/project management concepts, methods and practices. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills including facilitation and presentation skills. Proven capacity to work well under pressure. Excellent analytical reasoning and problem solving skills. Capacity to achieve organizational goals and project management objectives such as budgets, schedules, and service delivery requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional software. Experience with the management of professional and/or unionized staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years in a construction project management role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
