Required Qualifications:

A Master’s Degree with a CPA designation is required. Three to five years managerial or related experience is needed. Experience in compliance and risk management is necessary. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of business operations and key internal processes Is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Certification in LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies. A minimum of ten years (post CPA designation) in external audit or a corporate internal audit role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is required. A strong understanding of Internal Audit professional standards and their practical application is needed. Experience auditing in a highly complex organization, with a challenging Information Technology environment is an asset. Experience working with Boards and senior and executive leadership is necessary. (strategic focus)


Additional Required Qualifications:

The incumbent must have a proven ability to effectively coach and mentor staff, with the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. This position requires the following skills: Ability to work cooperatively in a matrixed environment; highly effective verbal and written communication skills; Strong team building abilities; Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects within budget and timelines; and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Progressive senior leadership experience, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities is needed. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing and multifaceted environment with diverse, complex, and sensitive issues is necessary. The incumbent uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals, options, risks and implications. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with government, boards, committees, and other partners is required.
