BSc.P.T. or MSc. P.T. is required. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Minimum 5 years experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably a tertiary level or large urban facility Strong relationship building skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated sound judgment, planning and organizational skills are essential. A demonstrated history of continuous learning and the fundamental skills for assessing and treating patients in acute and ambulatory care. Client-centered, creative, sound critical thinking and ethical decision-making. Reliable using time effectively and can prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with Netcare, and other electronic medical records are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in working with pediatric patients is an asset. Experience in adult education, teaching, facilitating educational sessions or in-services would be an asset. Experience with the complex medical patient populations (end of life, chronic disease management, post ICU, dementia) is an asset.
