A minimum of four (4) years related information, privacy investigation experience in a private or public sector environment or in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A working knowledge of information privacy principles with specific knowledge of Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and other similar access and privacy legislation is required. A post-secondary degree in Privacy, Legal, Information Management, Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences or related area. The ability to understand and interpret legislation and apply it to privacy compliance is required. Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year experience for one year education or one year of education for one year of experience.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experienced with conducting privacy investigations and assessing privacy program risk. Demonstrated skills with customer service, relationship building and networking, effective communication, problem solving and consultation, with a keen eye for detail and respect for confidentiality. Ability to negotiate with and handle demanding clients, tight deadlines and apply project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of data evaluation methodologies & report development preferred. Experience in privacy, legal research, investigative & auditing practices, information analysis & interpretation preferred. Certified Information & Privacy Professional (CIPP/C) designation. Certified Information & Privacy Management (CIPM) designation. Canadian Information Access & Privacy Professional (CIAPP). U of A IAPP Program.
