Completion of 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
Additional Qualifications:High School Diploma (Grade 12). Must hold a valid Alberta Boilers Branch 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate of Competency. 5 years’ experience in a similar role and in a health care facility setting. Must demonstrate a willingness and ability to progress to a minimum of a 3rd Class Power Engineer. Must be mechanically inclined with the desire to take responsibility for a power plant. Experienced in high pressure Power Plants and institutional maintenance. Communication skills are essential. Must be able to speak, write, and follow written instructions in English. Experience in the use of computers, peripherals, and various standard office software applications. Note: This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the operation of various control systems including: Building Management Systems (BMS), boiler controls and safety systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), human machine interfaces (HMI), and fire alarm systems would be considered an asset.
