Completion of 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate.
Additional Required Qualifications:Valid Province of Alberta or Inter-Provincial 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate of Competency is required. Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience with progressive responsibilities in the operation and maintenance of a modern 1st Class pressure plant in a hospital setting is required. Good knowledge of DCS (i.e., Insight, ABB, etc.) is required. Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License. ABSA Certification is required. Demonstrated operational and maintenance abilities as well as proven mechanical aptitude. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. No physical limitations with regards to sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc. Good verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under own initiative with minimal direction is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Additional courses in power engineering, mechanical, electrical, as well as computer systems (preferably ABB), and/or experience in water treatment and engineering would be an asset. Considerable experience in HVAC, Preventative Maintenance Systems, Computer Network Systems and current industrial software is also desired.
