Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. 1 years experience within the last 5 years in Alberta Health Services acute care setting preferred. Must have at 1 year of experience with assessing and treating a variety of different acute patient populations in hospital. Knowledge and experience of the application of the Destination Home philosophy and awareness of community resources in and around Edmonton is required and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation skills are an asset. You are able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impacts, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate to effectively plan treatments and discharges from hospital. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who is flexible in using their time effectively by prioritizing competing tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Basic computer skills, and ability navigating Netcare, Outlook and other electronic medical records are required. Connect Care training is an asset. Able to lift and transfer equipment and bariatric patients.
Preferred Qualifications:Provisional licenses with the college will be considered but general license preferred. Recent experience in Alberta Health Services acute care setting preferred. Skills and knowledge in the areas of chronic disease management, dementia, fractures, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation are an asset. Basic computer skills, and familiarity with electronic medical records are preferred. Able to lift the heavy equipment and handling the bariatric patients, proof for back care education is preferred.
