Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

3 or more years of hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities including sterile compounding. 3 or more years’ experience in sterile compounding with knowledge of specialized compounding such as PN, Oncology, Hazardous, HPTP and/or High Risk. Requires knowledge and ability to apply The Model Standards for Pharmacy Compounding of Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Sterile Compounding (NAPRA). Demonstration of involvement in Project planning and Implementation. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet required timelines. Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Demonstrated computer or word processing skills. Highly motivated and committed to continual quality improvement and lifelong learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as an Aseptic Lead or Sterile Compounding Certifier. Previous participation in various Pharmacy Initiatives such as Medication Quality and Safety, Core Compounding Working Group, Provincial Sterile Compounding Team. Additional sterile compounding education (workshops, courses, etc.) e.g. Critical Point Boot Camp, air sampler equipment training, environmental monitoring management. Previous experience in Precepting of Students and/or Training of new staff.
