Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2 + years of recent hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to order entry, checking, sterile compounding, and all aspects of drug distribution such as ward stock, narcotics and individual prescriptions. Certified for sterile compounding (current – within year). Experience in all aspects of Oncology pharmacy practice, including but not limited to the safe handling and preparation of hazardous drugs in the following areas: receiving, setup, preparation, dispensing and general medication distribution. Certified for hazardous drug sterile compounding (current – within year). In addition, the successful incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following: Communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to work in teams. Computer or word processing skills. Commitment to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year+ of recent Oncology pharmacy practice experience preferred. Recent experience in special projects or working groups such as aseptic lead, trainer, educator, etc. preferred. Valid certification as an Authorized Chemotherapy Checker preferred. Experience with BDM computer program preferred. 6 months+ experience in retail pharmacy setting preferred. Membership with a pharmacy professional organization preferred. Membership in Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO) preferred.
