Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Qualifications:Familiar with Microsoft Word and Windows based computer programs. Ability to type minimum 40 net wpm. Ability to work with Pharmacy Meditech computer module. Ability to coordinate own work with others, and to comply with established schedules. Ability to understand, interpret and apply a variety of systems and procedures relating to the control and distribution of drugs. Ability to use and/or operate related equipment including liquid and solid packaging equipment, calibrated glassware, word processor, typewriter, and computer terminals. Ability to complete forms, label packages, compile statistics, and maintain filing systems. Ability to do mathematically related calculations. Demonstrate work accuracy level of 98% or greater specifically in the areas of repackaging of orally administered medications, refilling/exchanging of wardstock drugs, checking for expired drugs, and charging of pharmaceuticals to clinics and units. Personal Suitability: Evidence of physical ability to perform packaging and delivery functions. Evidence of neatness, thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail in performing duties which affect patient safety and legal requirements. Evidence of integrity and trustworthiness in handling of drugs. Evidence of ability to work in cooperation with pharmacists and technicians and other health care professionals, or to operate independently.
Preferred Qualifications:Hospital pharmacy work experience. Familiarity with drug order processing. Familiarity with pharmaceutical names (generic and trade names), products, and medical terminology.
