Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous pharmacy experience required. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a pharmacy assistant and/or technician in a clinical setting. Must have good organizational skills, able to work cooperatively with others, dependable, accurate, pleasant attitude towards public, good interpersonal skills. Ability to transfer medications with a great degree of accuracy therefore needs to be able to read and interpret generic and trade names of drugs. Fluency in the English language (written and verbal). Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to patient and family centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:Graduate of recognized pharmacy assistant program and/or recent retail or hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications (Microsoft Word/Excel) is preferred.. Previous portering skills is an asset. Previous experience with Pyxis is an asset. Previous experience with Epic is an asset. Previous experience with barcoding medications is an asset.
