Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada required. Additional Prescribing Authorization granted by the Alberta College of Pharmacists required in some areas and an asset in others. Experience with Windows-based computer applications an asset. Computer application to hospital pharmacy is essential. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to provide a positive and patient/client focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Ability to work independently, and within a team, effectively managing his or her time and setting priorities when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines over a period of time. Demonstrable problem solving and conflict resolution skills/training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency certificate considered an asset. CPR training considered an asset. Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) considered an asset. Certification to administer drugs by Injection granted by the Alberta College of Pharmacists required in some areas and as an asset. Experience with the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care within the hospital setting is preferred. Two to four years of clinical experience within a specialized program area is preferred.
