Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 Diploma. Lived experience with chronic pain self-management required. Must be willing to share personal experience with self-management strategies and system navigation. Knowledge of systemic issues such as poverty, unemployment, stigma, medications, and the isolation felt by individuals with chronic pain and their families. Experience leading group-based peer support considered a strong asset. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaise with various professionals. Ability to work confidently, independently, and within collaborative partnerships. Ability to thoroughly and accurately collect and document information in a timely manner. Excellent computer skills essential, including working knowledge of Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and utilize multiple electronic platforms concurrently. Experience fostering and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with key partners within and outside of AHS. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team as a contributing member. Demonstrated abilities in conflict resolution and management. Ability to foster a culture of acceptance, adoption, and advocacy. Requires exceptional verbal, written, and listening skills to comprehend, create, and communicate concepts and options.

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal Peer Support training considered a strong asset. Formal group facilitation training considered a strong asset. Involvement with local/emerging community of practice and with a national peer support organization is strongly encouraged.
