Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse Program Current CLPNA registration Current BCLS-HCP certification Completion of a CLPNA recognized Orthopedic training program Ability to lift minimum of 25 lbs. Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English Proficiency using computer Microsoft software (word, excel, office, outlook) Proficiency using Connect Care, Netcare, Impax Minimum 1 year experience working in an Orthopedic area Minimum 1 year experience using EPIC in an Ambulatory Orthopedic Clinic Setting Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated organizational skills and competence in time-management Ability to adhere to AHC Code of Conduct & Patient Confidential Policy Ability to work independently and prioritize own workload Ability to multi-task in an environment with frequent interruptions Demonstrates proficiency in clinical assessment skills within scope of practice
Preferred Qualifications:Member of Canadian Society for Orthopedic Technologists Previous Emergency department experience Previous Cast Clinic experience
