Undergraduate degree preferably in Emergency Management and/or a Health Profession. A combination of relevant education and experience in healthcare and/or Emergency Management may be considered. Three years experience within a healthcare and/or Emergency Management environment. A wide range of knowledge on current trends and practices in Emergency Management, particularly within a healthcare environment, government, or industry. Strong understanding of the different pillars of emergency management including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Experience working in an ICS structure. Minimum ICS 200 certification. The ability to work efficiently under extremely stressful conditions. Experience in the preparation and delivery of educational and training programs. Ability to use provincial templates to build a complete suite of emergency response plans for a site. Demonstrated skills in time and priority management, and conflict resolution. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in the preparation of written reports and papers Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.
Additional Required Qualifications:Required training courses and/or experience to be obtained within six months of hiring: AHS Required Organizational Learning modules. AHS Emergency Response Orientation and hazard specific e-learning modules. Alberta Ready Personal Disaster Preparedness. Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity certification. CBRN/Hazmat First Receiver certification and obtainment of Instructor status. Psychological First Aid / R2MR. Site Command Post. Introduction to Business Continuity. Other training as directed by the Zone E/DM Director. Preferred training courses and/or experience to be obtained with 12-18 months of hiring and upon direction of Zone E/DM Director: Incident Command System Level 300.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Emergency Management/ a Health Profession. Supervisory/management experience. CBRN/Hazmat training/experience. Exercise design training/experience. Certification with IAEM/CEM/AEM. BCM training/certification/ experience (ABCP, CBCP). Knowledge of legislation, regulations and codes that impact emergency planning and response. Experience in Project Management/ Change Management.
