Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Diverse experience within an acute care hospital setting (must include experience in general med/surgical units). Demonstrated skills in leading interdisciplinary teams. Recent experience in program development and practice improvement. Proven ability in problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution. Demonstrated self-initiative and decision-making ability within a complex environment is required. Demonstrate mentorship through mentoring/orientation of new staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize the workload for the team and flexibly respond to changes at a team, department and site level. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with members of the interdisciplinary team, patients and families in a dynamic health care setting. Job demands A high level of physical effort is required related to clinical caseload. Includes maintaining a standing position, perform up to a medium level of work (20-50lbs handled occasionally) including bending and/or rotation related to client transfers or therapeutic intervention. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of AHS – Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in an adult acute care within the last 10 years. Previous experience in a leadership position. Participation in quality improvement initiatives. Ability to work with stakeholders outside of rehabilitation. Experience working with diverse communities, groups and/or organizations (i.e. ethno-cultural, equity-setting, racialized, faith-based, LGBTQ2S+, vulnerable, marginalized, persons with disabilities, etc.).
