Nurse Practitioner
Your Opportunity:
The Peter Lougheed Centre is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner to add to our multidisciplinary team of critical care providers. This role will support the ICU Physician and Nursing team with day-to-day care, planning and interventions. While PLC will be the home site there is potential for cross coverage in the other adult ICUs in the Zone.
Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Prior ICU clinical background is an asset. Minimum 600 clinical hours as a NP is an asset. Training and competency to complete diagnostic and therapeutic procedures is an asset.
