Alberta Health Services is currently seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about caring for infants who require specialized care within a large and diverse neonatal program. This role will allow you to apply your previous clinical Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) experience as part of a NNP team. You will also be empowered and accountable to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as work collaboratively with patients and families as partners in care. Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre NICU Team. This Nurse Practitioner – Neonatal position will support Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (RDRHC) NICU services within Central Zone. RDRHC is the regional referral centre for Central Zone and cares for babies of approximately 31 weeks or greater within the NICU environment. Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years full-time clinical experience currently working in a level II or III NICU as a NNP. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider and/or Instructor Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the development and/or implementation of evidence-based practice. Experience with program development. Experience with clinical or scientific research. Microsoft Office Suite knowledge. Quality Improvement certification (i.e. AHS AIW Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent). Change Management certification (i.e. AHS PROSCI or equivalent).
