Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The Spine NP, an advanced practice nurse (APN), is required to maintain competency in 4 domains: Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research. The successful candidate must have completed a master's degree in nursing with a focus on Advanced Clinical Practice; a minimum of 5 years (full time) of related experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care; strong written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; as well as the ability to self-direct the adaptation and evaluation of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of EPIC Connect Care, Alberta NetCare, and IMPAX viewer is ideal. ACLS and TNCC would be an asset. Experience working with the spine patient population will be considered an asset.
