Your Opportunity:

The Lois Hole Hospital for Women provides expert patient care for women of all ages and in all stages of life located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) one of Alberta’s largest and longest-serving hospitals. Centrally located in Edmonton’s downtown core, the RAH serves a diverse community, including some of our province’s most vulnerable populations. This position will be covering the Labour and Delivery Unit and the Assessment/Triage/ Induction area at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women and will report to the Patient Care Manager of Obstetrics. Integrating knowledge of advanced nursing practice, the Nurse Practitioner in obstetrics is responsible and accountable for the provision of evidence-based expert clinical care to pregnant individuals and their families.

Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years obstetrical experience required including obstetrical ambulatory care experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a complex team environment and the ability to be flexible and adapt positively to changing clinical situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Neonatal Resuscitation program and Fetal Health Surveillance program considered assets.
