The primary responsibility of the NP is to provide comprehensive direct patient care for outpatients referred to the clinic as a core member of the team. The ATOP NP is authorized and competent to perform comprehensive assessment, triage, diagnosis (including ordering and interpretation of tests), intervention (including prescribing of medications), management, referral and evaluation of client care. The ATOP NP works in close collaboration with other specialist MD's. The NP provides leadership and actively participates in program development and evaluation, research and clinical teaching activities.
Additional Required Qualifications:The NP is a Registered Nurse who has successfully completed an approved NP program and holds a Master of Nursing with a focus on advanced clinical nursing practice. Current registration with CARNA as an NP in the Adult stream. Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an NP in a relevant outpatient clinical setting and / or front-line clinical RN work. Current BCLS.
Preferred Qualifications:Strongly recommended to have a background in Pulmonary nursing, acute care and/or Outpatient settings. Additional training in ECG interpretation, Lab and DI investigations would be an asset.
