Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years recent (within the past 5 years) experience at a 0.50 FTE or greater in the Alberta provincial Public/Community Health Nursing programs is required. Comprehensive knowledge of the Alberta provincial immunization program, schedule and standards is required. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to work independently with little supervision, to work well in teams in both zone and site capacities, as well as demonstrated excellent leadership, organizational, analytical and decision making skills are required. Demonstrated skills of computer applications including word processing (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Internet access are required. Demonstrated excellence in professionalism, communication, leadership, teaching, and mentoring. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary health care team is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution preferred. Knowledge of communicable disease control programs in Alberta preferred. Experience with immunization/CDC databases is an asset.
