Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years current Full Time Equivalent experience in a Calgary Zone emergency department setting. Current experience as a Nurse Clinician OR Nurse in Charge of a Calgary Zone Emergency Department. Demonstrated clinical expertise with pediatric and adult patient populations. Current and valid Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate. Resume with description of previous experience. Must be proficient with computer systems. This Departments documents are completed in an electronic chart and department resources are found online. Demonstrated successful completion and competence in Emergency Department advanced specialized certifications. Must possess and demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Must demonstrate advanced written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Nursing. Experience with family centered care and collaborative practice approach and philosophy. Graduation from Mount Royal University, or equivalent course, in Advanced Critical Care Nursing (ACCN) in Emergency. Current Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nurses Paediatric Course (ENPC), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
