This Nuclear Medicine MRT I position performs a wide range of functional imaging in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required.
Description:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. As a NMT I, you will perform Nuclear Medicine procedures as described in the department procedure manual using a wide range of equipment such as gamma cameras, computers, ECG monitors, cardiac stress equipment, and radiation safety devices.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Nuclear Medicine Technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills required. Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Skilled in radiation safety practices and compliance. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, AHS staff and Physicians. Excellent record keeping skills required. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is preferred. Connect Care and IMPAX proficiency an asset. Applicable additional courses preferred. Radiation Safety Officer or related courses an asset. Previous experience with hybrid imaging an asset. Excellent laboratory skills preferred.
