Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Millwright Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Seasoned/Specialized technical/professional experience required (i.e. 5-7 years). Minimum of 5 years’ experience in repair and maintenance and operation of a wide range of industrial plant rotating and rolling stock equipment including diesel generators. There is a very wide variety of complex equipment present in the hospital environment which is maintained by the millwright therefore the millwright must have extensive experience in this area. Considerable initiative and judgement involved. Incumbent is allowed considerable use of judgement in solving technical problems arising in day to day operations. Testing adjustment and repair of rotating and rolling stock equipment. In addition to knowledge related to the millwright trade, some familiarity, education and experience in the areas related to Machinist, Heavy Duty Mechanic and Welder trades is required. Knowledge of General Safety Service Act relating to Plant Operations and associated regulations. Writing reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

An Alberta Journey Person Certificate in a related trade is an asset.
