Your Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced mental health professional to join our team at Red Deer Children's AMH! The ideal candidate will have a completed and valid license under the Health Professions Act, be knowledgeable and have significant experience working with children and families, be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, and be motivated to learn and develop their clinical skills within a team environment. The Red Deer Children's AMH portfolio, including this position, supports the full breadth of programs including outpatient clinical services, Unit 39 at Red Deer Regional Hospital, PChAD, Step Up Step Down and PES (Psychiatric Emergency Supports) At times, there may be a requirement to work within a community agency in Red Deer.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completed licensure under the Health Professions Act. Experience working with Children, youth and families in a mental health setting
Preferred Qualifications:5 Years Experience working with children, youth, and families is considered an asset. Certification in Play Therapy, EMDR, or other trauma related modalities considered an asset.
