Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Registered Social Workers must be authorized to perform psychosocial interventions and designation as a Clinical Social Worker is preferred. Provisional status with current registration with CAP will be considered. 3-5 years of direct clinical experience with the focus on children, youth and their families, preferably in a community mental health setting. Formal training in a therapeutic modality of intervention may include, but is not limited to, Solution focused Therapy, CBT, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, etc. Proficiency with computers, including MS Office Suite. Experience in Suicide Risk Management (assessment and intervention). Current CPR certification. Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working within school environments. Previous experience working with trauma. Previous experience working with Child and Family Services and/or Multicultural groups, such as community, friendship, or settlement services. Experience with child and adolescent mental health therapeutic interventions such as various family therapies, CBT, Play, EMDR and Solution-Focused Therapy.
