Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing, with considerable experience in mental health assessment and the provision of psychotherapy. Registered Social Workers must be authorized to perform psychosocial interventions, and designation as a Clinical Social Worker is preferred. An equivalent level of education and experience may be considered. Registration in a professional regulatory body as defined by the Health Professions Act (CRNA, CRPNA, ACOT, CAP, ACSW). Relevant mental health clinical knowledge, skills, and experience working with children, youth & families. Demonstrated understanding of family centered care principles and the application of family centered care within the context of clients who have experienced child abuse. Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a variety of therapeutic modalities demonstrated by formal training and experience in at least one evidence-based therapeutic intervention, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and play-based modalities. Experience collaborating with child protection and justice systems and strong working knowledge of relevant legislation. Current BCLS-HCP certification, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) model and completion of TF-CBT online training. Experience working with multicultural groups, including refugee, newcomers to the country and First Nations. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting. Experience co-facilitating support and psycho-educational groups. Experience with Connect Care is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
