Your Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity exists to be part of the changing landscape of addiction and mental health services in the North Zone. As a virtual mental health therapist, you will work with different Community Addiction and Mental Health Clinics across the North Zone that are experiencing challenges recruiting and retaining staff or where local capacity is not sufficient to meet demand for addiction and mental health services. As a virtual mental health therapist you will work independently as a member of a multiple disciplinary team providing evidence informed and best practices in assessment, treatment, addiction and mental health interventions, support and follow-up to clients. Services will be primarily delivered through telephone, telehealth or other related communication technology. You will carry a caseload and will liaise with local Community Addiction and Mental Health staff and management to ensure clients receive appropriate, quality care. This is an advanced mental health role required to perform the restricted activity of Psychosocial Interventions to address the full range of addiction and mental health issues. This is a temporary position. The position is virtual, and the successful applicant can be located anywhere within the North Zone. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.

Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
