Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Full registration with a professional college under the Health Professions Act. Provisional registration not appropriate in this role. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Mental Health care providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to patients with acute and/or chronic mental health disorders and group facilitation. At least 2 years’ experience in Geriatric Mental Health required. 1 year experience in Community Mental Health required. Knowledge of clinical mental health disorders commonly seen in the seniors population required. Knowledge of normal aging and development required. Strong connect care skills. Intermediate computer skills in Outlook email, MS Word and Excel required. Intermediate skills in MS Word required. A demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships with diverse professionals required.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training/experience is an asset. Experience with intake and triage within Mental Health and Addiction is an asset. Group facilitation within Mental Health and Addiction an asset.
