Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Certification from an accredited Medical Transcription Program.
Additional Required Qualifications:1-year experience in editing medical dictation using dictation system with integrated speech recognition plus 1-year experience in traditional transcription skills. Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills with minimum of 60wpm. Backend transcription speed of 17 minutes per hour. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, across all medical specialties. Ability to concentrate (and sit) for long periods of time. Maintain a keen eye for detail. Ability to work in an open-office environment. Excellent eye-hand and auditory coordination. Superior listening, oral & written communication skills including correct use of business English, grammar, punctuation and style. Work independently & organize and prioritize workload to meet established department turnaround guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with: Dragon Medical 360 (Editscript and Emon), Microsoft Office, Windows-based PC environment/applications/network & Skype. Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines & practices as outlined in the AHDI Book of Style. Able to understand diverse accents, dialects, and dictation styles. Aptitude to deliver results, grow professionally and personally by making mature judgements, commitment, collaboration, dependability, reliability with enthusiasm and good communication.
