Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
The Cardiac Diagnostics and Clinics department within SHC is currently recruiting a temporary full-time Clerk IV. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics and Clinics, the Clerk IV will assist in completion of clerical tasks associated with one or more of the 3 Cardiac Diagnostics areas and/or one or more of the 14 Cardiac Clinics. Within these departments the Clerk IV will be tasked with the following: Knowledgeable and proficient with Connect Care and Netcare Managing workques in Connect Care Booking patient appointments and using templates within Connect Care Management and processing of patient referrals in accordance with Path to Care guidelines Faxing documentation as required Liaising with referring sites regarding patient bookings and the entire multidisciplinary team Completing and sending referrals for various diagnostic tests Sending and receiving departmental mail The successful candidate must possess strong intrapersonal skills, demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate in stressful situations and consistently execute attention to detail in work performance. This role requires a strong ability to multi-task, successfully complete work while managing numerous interruptions, demonstrate flexibility to learn workflows associated with each diagnostic area or clinic and independently problem solve. The successful candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of patient and family centered care. Additionally, the Clerk IV will maintain Alberta Health Services privacy standards at all times thereby prioritizing patient confidentiality. As such they will adhere to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and the Health Information Act.

Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 graduate or equivalent. Medical Terminology Course. Minimum 1 year working in an ambulatory setting in the last 3 years. Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time Work within a multidisciplinary team Possess excellent communication skills Proficiency with the following IT systems: Connect Care and Netcare Word Outlook Internet Explorer
Preferred Qualifications:Applicants with less than 1 year may be considered if they have one or more of the following: recent graduate of an accredited Unit Clerk or Medial Office Assistant program and or experience as a Unit Clerk on a medical/surgical or cardiology inpatient unit. Proficiency with database management, completion of Medical Office Assistant course. Proficiency with the following IT systems: Connect Care, APPROACH, Netcare, Right Fax, MUSE, Xcellera, Impax.
