Description:

The Co-Manager, Physiotherapy Services is a key leadership role in the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, and reports to the Director, Older Adult Rehabilitation Division. This position, in collaboration with another manager, is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of Physiotherapy Services and assigned programs in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. This role is responsible for the delivery of effective and efficient patient services in a matrix management structure, including working with a co-manager in the overall administration and coordination of services provided by the professional and support staff in Physiotherapy. The manager will also be responsible for managing outpatient programs as well as various site initiatives. This position is part of a strong and engaged leadership team of patient service managers and patient care managers across the site.

Required Qualifications:

Degree in Physiotherapy and eligible for professional membership with the Alberta College of Physiotherapists. Two years of formal leadership experience ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Can be a member of a regulated profession other than Physiotherapy, in good standing in the relevant college/association with a minimum of 2 years’ management experience.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective communicator with strong ability to engage staff, with patient/family focused orientation and a commitment to providing high quality, innovative services. Ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources within an operating environment. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate level education. Experience managing in a health care setting. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, mentoring and inspiring confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Proven ability to foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and to achieve organizational goals. Experience managing within a unionized environment.
