Description:
Reporting to the Director, the Manager provides direction, leadership, and organization for initiatives and programs within the Diagnostic Imaging department. Experience with senior management priorities, and an understanding of stakeholder needs, this position delineates high level strategies and frameworks into planning clinical initiatives that meet operational needs for the Alberta Children’s Hospital. The Manager participates in the development, implementation, & evaluation of Provincial Diagnostic Imaging business plans and priorities in consultation with the Director and through effective partnerships and collaboration within AHS and stakeholders. The Manager ensures objectives translate to work plans with defined timelines, key deliverables that are comprehensive and transformational with on-going processes for operational sustainability for our growing community.

Current registration with ACMDTT or equivalent Health, Sciences or related degree. Leader's certificate and/or courses in Leadership required. 5 years diverse experience in Diagnostic Imaging. 5 years progressive experience in leadership. Highly developed leadership and motivational skills. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to use initiative, take responsibility and self-organize. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities. Demonstrated project planning and management ability. Demonstrated ability to balance expectations against available resources and maintain essential patient care services. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Computer literacy.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to use good judgement, make sound decisions and practice strong organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with medical, professional, technical and clerical staff. Demonstrated team-building skills. Ability to promote collaborative decision-making processes. Patient focused care with excellent interpersonal communication skills. Critical thinking skills with a provincial and zone perspective. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Comprehensive knowledge of the complex Imaging environment, including the specialized requirements of the various modalities. Working knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, calendar, internet. Understanding of Radiology Information System (RIS), Hospital Information. Systems (HIS/ADT), Web servers and Picture Archiving and Communication. Systems (PACS).
Preferred Qualifications:Health science or related degree preferred.
