Your Opportunity:

Description:

As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence. Power Engineer 5th Class Certificate required where boiler support is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be familiar with a variety of architectural and mechanical tools or equipment used in the maintenance department. Must have at least two years' experience with summer groundskeeping or winter snow removal equipment. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and written. Must be familiar with and adhere to established safety rules, regulations and procedures. Applicant shall have the ability to work with minimal supervision, be cooperative and a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Candidate must also be physically capable of lifting 50lbs, pushing/pulling up to 150lbs, and have the ability to walk, stand, crouch, kneel or work off a ladder for extended periods of time or for the duration of shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
