Your Opportunity:

Responsible for providing and performing quality service to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services in an effective, efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team at South Health Campus and South Calgary Health Center MRI, this position is required to work all shifts and on-call, as assigned.

Description:

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I, you will produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist for the purpose of diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will produce high quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by a Physician, prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure, and maintain MRI equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program required or completion of certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of registry exam. Member in good standing and current registration/eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) (Previously AAMRT). CAMRT MRI Certification. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, computer and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated interest in professional growth. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and Physicians.
