Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Position requires candidates to perform moderate to heavy work on a regular basis in an RN/LPN/HCA capacity in order to ensure safe patient care and safety of unit staff. This job is physically demanding, the incumbent will be required to assist with lifting, turning, and mobilizing patients as well as other physical tasks. Candidates are required to write a medication calculation exam on interview. Failure to achieve a passing mark on the exam may impact decision to hire. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and priority setting skills required. Demonstrated reliability required. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Basic computer skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Two years previous orthopedic and surgical experience preferred. IV, PCA, Epidural, Drains and Wound Care experience preferred. Experience with monitoring of Central Lines preferred.
