Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have completed the Peri-Operative course or have the equivalent of 3 years’ Operating Room experience. Successful completion of an approved Practical Nursing educational program (diploma or certificate in practical nursing). Minimum of 5 years current general operating room experience in a high acuity OR with 1 – 2 years specific experience in Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized and rapid moving environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position. Incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
